Ellie Button

Here I go making up names again. This little dog has been called so many different names the past week that I'll be shocked if she ever learns her real name. She's been called...

1. Baby
2. Honey
3. Dustmop
4. Dust Bunny
5. Kitty
6. Ellie
7. Ellie Belly
8. Ellie Bean
9. Dog
10. Little Dog
11. Ewok
12. Peachy
13. Mrs. Peabody

She really is a cute little dog and we are enjoying her company. Jazz is getting used to her being around too. Bethany still isn't sure what to make of her and Dave isn't either, but neither of them live here anymore. I suppose they'll get used to her in time... Afterall, even the cats are finally starting to come home.

  1. Thanks, Jim, for letting me borrow your camera and you too, Shelly, for the bigger camera card!

  2. I wondered if you had gotten your camera fixed...

Yeah, I guess I am a little hard on the pooch. She just doesn't look like she belongs... Maybe in time, it'll feel like she belongs there.

  3. I think she's adorable looking! Why doesn't she look like she belongs, Bethany? Maybe you're used to the bigger, less shaggy dogs that you've had in the past.

  4. Very cute nicknames too, by the way. Jake has lots of nicknames too.

  5. She is soo cute!!! Is she as snuggly as she looks? Playfull? Bless Jazz and her big heart! I use to get jellous (sp) when my folks got a new pet after I left home. HUMP!! How dare them shower love and attention on some stranger!! Carl, my darling Psych in residence, says it is so natural to feel this way, resistance to change. I still feel a little guilty for that.

  10. There is no Japanese word that corresponds to mop. It is used; but he dictiionary says: a long-handle rag or "moppu". Kinda like coffee is pronounced "cohee" More in a minute..

  11. I love all your names...but wanted to confuse you more and since Chip/James was born in Japan, I wanted to give some other ideas to totally confuse you...tanuki: tanuki, a dog-like animal native to asia
"Chesai Tamadachi" Chesai(is little) (not the exact spelling but the pronunciation is pretty exact means Tiny or small friend.."Tamadachi" means friend.
chibi(means little one or "chibisan" "San" (is a sign of respect and friendliness)
and Kawaii pronounced Cow eyeee..means cute
I do believe one time we had a little dog over there named Chico..but also one named Chesai...anyway..just some more to add to your list...pretty soon..one will stick forever..but she/he is kinda cute...and certainly does look like the Ewok too...I wish I was there to confuse y'all even more..still working on the place..discovered quite a bit of the woodword had been painted over oil base with latex so we are peeling paint instead of sunburns..better for our skin but trying for sure...but we are coming along...its getting there slow but sure...more later with photos to boot! I love you, and it was sooo incredible to spend time with the kids...

  12. I wish you were here to confuse me too, ...! Oh what fun we could have.

    Ewok was Nate's contribution.

  14. Martha: I can't believe how much she looks like our Molly. They look like they could be from the same litter. She's absolutely adorable...That exactly how Molly looked when we got her at six months.
