Crate Expectations

The apple harvest has begun. The crates are stacking up in the orchards and yesterday I saw four Porta-Potties go down the road on a flatbed truck. Although I expect it will slightly quieter than some previous years, the activity levels in the orchards are picking up. Its almost time to start baking pies and strudels!

Sara and Alysa go back to school next Wednesday and Troy will be back here full time too. I still don't have my schedule figured out but it will happen eventually. My own kids will still be here, of course, but things will gradually settle into a routine... I hope.

  1. The apples sound good. What kind of apples do they harvest? Do you have Honey crisp apples? I love going to the orchard and taste testing all of the apples. I love apple brats, caramel apple sundaes and making apple crisp.

  2. I'm finding myself sad this year at all the signs of summer coming to an end, like apples being harvested. I love fall though and need to look forward to the apple pies and all that is to come!

  3. I'm getting excited about fall and have even found myself anticipating wintery afternoons stuck inside watching the flakes build up around my doors and windows. But this year I have an extra special reason to look forward to the changing seasons. With fall this year comes a little bit of someone special and I can't wait to be stuck inside on a cold winter afternoon just me and my baby... Although the image is slightly romanticized and I'm sure that I'll want a break from crying baby... But a sleeping baby is lovely to cuddle and coo at.

  6. It is that time of year everywhere I think. ALthough in Japan, they seem to have a different schedule.

I always missed my kids for a week or so and then it was the other way around when they got out. It was hard to get used to all the noise. Now the oldest is 51 and not a noise maker.

    LOL

Thanks for visiting my blog today.
