Tiny Toads

These little creatures have invaded the back yard of a friend where we stopped while running errands yesterday. These tiny toads seem to be everywhere and are no bigger than my fingernail. (That's my husband's hairy arm, not mine!) I have to wonder how many we squashed just walking through the grass...
I suppose they make tasty snacks for hungry birds and snakes but I imagine one would need to eat several toads to constitute a good meal. Hmmm... do they taste like chicken too?

  2. I am wondering, is that their normal size or are they babies? Not that it matters. And by the way, James has a sliver in his hand. :O)

I believe these are just baby toads.

I just love these little characters...the one on the hand itself looks like it is trying to bargan with the owner of the hand to let it free without eating it...cute...you have such an interesting blog Martha...photos, words..info..and comments...all worth while looking into each and every day...what a wonderful thing to be able to know what my family is doing so far away...even the little things..like getting a wrong time on an appointment..makes me, for one, feel normal when I make the same or similar mystake myself..thankyou so much for EVERYTHING...you have no idea how much you mean to me...I love you...yoma

  7. Years ago, when we lived in the high desert, we would get those little buggers by the hundreds! Cute, but when they invade in those numbers...yikes!!

  8. They are so cute, I don't think I've ever seen one so small! My step daughter is crazy about all types of animals. She would love adopting them.
