K is for Kinglet

K is for Kinglet, Golden Crowned Kinglet.

I found this cute little bird outside my kitchen window one morning last fall on my way out to the bus stop with the girls. At first I thought it might be injured, but after posing for my camera for a few minutes, it jumped into the air and took off for the backyard pine tree.

    1. I had never seen one either and suspect he had a bit of an accident with the window previous to our encounter. I posted his picture on my Facebook account and a cousin said,

"OMGosh! too cute! Its a Golden-crowned Kinglet - they usually are victims of running into glass windows, they're so fast and sometimes hang out with a chickadee flock in the winter."

    1. Isn't he just the cutest little bird?

Once we had a little yellow warbler too. Sadly, it seems the best time to see them is after they've knocked themselves silly flying into a window. When you hear that thud, run outside and see what you've go before the cats do. haha.
