Crossing the Finish Line

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7

There are no words to express the feelings. What a man, what an example! How our hearts ache, but what peace we have.

With family at his bedside, Dad passed into glory, and out of a dark and dreary sky came a ray of sunshine flooding his bed. Five minutes later the rain was pouring down and heaven cried along with us. So heaven shines a little bit brighter today and Dad is caught up into His arms.

  1. That few minutes of bright sun right at his death was really neat. I am so relieved that he is no longer suffering, but boy I sure do miss him. I'm glad we can hear him sing about Heaven whenever we want.

  15. Your father was a wonderful man of God, who has gone on before us to be with our Lord and Savior in Glory.

    Sufficient Is He

    His grace is sufficient,
    Then why need I fear,
    Though the testing be hard,
    And the trial severe?
    He tempers each wind
    That upon me doth blow,
    And tenderly whispers,
    Thy Father doth know.

    His power is sufficient,
    Then why should I quail,
Though the storm clouds hang low,
    And wild is the gale?
    His strength will not falter,
    Whatever betide,
    And safe on His bosom
    He bids me to hide.

    His love is sufficient,
    Yes, boundless and free;
    As high as the mountains,
    As deep as the sea.
    Ah, there will I rest
    Till the darkness is o'er,
    And wake in His likeness,
    To dwell evermore.

  19. Martha - I've been praying for your father, your mother, your family, and your sisters' families over the last few weeks. I wont pray for your father anymore, because he is home - and what a wonderful home he is now in! The rest of you remain in my prayers daily.
