The back section of our roof is bad, really bad. It's not the ideal time of year to pull off a section of roof, but that's what's happening. It's old, it's rotten, and My Darling isn't even sure it would have held up under a heavy winter snowfall, so off it came.
To prove the point, he acci- dentally miss stepped and put his foot through the kitchen ceiling. He almost caught the wall underneath but missed instead. Thankfully the damage is limited to near the back entrance.
Look! Now we have a skylight. I've always liked skylights. But somehow I doubt this one will stay.
Perhaps Betsy will be relieved to know she isn't the only one with a mess in her kitchen. I swept up the dirt, dust, insulation, and bits of shingle that were on the floor this afternoon, but I'm preparing myself for more mess in the days to come. I don't think the roof or the hole in the ceiling will get fixed without more mess in the process. Good thing we have a nice collection of shop-vacs.

Hi Girlfriend. We are back in CA and will be heading home Tuesday. Don is preaching tonight in a Pastor's friends church where we use to live. Think of you often, and looking for a new computer when we get home. I like your skylight...HaHa.
ReplyDeleteHey, Girlfriend! I've been missing you while you've been gone. I'm going to be glad to have you back again. I've been missing your good night hugs.

Were you in the kitchen when his foot came through? ha.
ReplyDeleteNo, I wasn't, but he warned me before I went into the house. I didn't doubt he was telling the truth, but Hannah said she thought he was kidding. I told him he could probably patch it up with refrigerator biscuits, but that's another story... ha ha!
