B is for Butterfly

B is for butterfly. A monarch butterfly in my backyard several years ago.

Not only am I blessed with single flitting Monarch butterflies here and there, but surprising "flocks" of butterflies one year, finding caterpillars in my milkweed another, and last year a beautiful "Methuselah Generation" chrysalis. (Click links to see...)

  1. That is a beautiful picture...looks like a greeting card! I don't think I've seen a monarch butterfly yet this year...just those smaller light yellows ones that are so common.

  2. Such a beautiful photograph. We have butterflies flitting through our yard but none settle long enough for a photograph

  8. Gorgeous--asters? I planted dill this year, again, hoping some caterpillars would stop by.
I've only seen on Monarch this year but your post has me keeping an eye out for more!

  9. And some say there's no God.

How did you manage to capture such a great photo? My attempts at butterflies always end up with their wings closed!
