Just Fine China

Rachel brought Mom over today and together we unpacked, washed, and dried her china, and attempted to put it all back into the cabinet. Even Mom wasn't quite sure where everything went. I suppose there may be some rearranging of plates, cups, and bowls in the days ahead, but for now they are all safely ticked behind the door.

Please pray for Mom as she adjusts to another major change in her life. It can't be easy leaving her home of fifty-two years, but she has not complained. One day soon we will get her settled in and then maybe she and I can have some fun together. Maybe she'll teach me how to crochet...

  1. My heart hurts for her. I know some are "home bodies" Carl is, he hated to move out of the house "home". I am not of that bend. I don't put much value on possessions. Well, duh, like that is news to you, Sweet Martha. You remain in my prayers.

  2. Praying for you and your precious Mom. I know it is a big change, but I also know she is going into a very loving home with some pretty fabulous people:-)

  4. I know this has got to be extremely difficult for her, but she seems to be very accepting of the change. She knows that she is very loved by all of us, and I have assured her that I will still be there to take her to appointments, to see Tim, and bring her here sometimes. I think it helps to keep her involved in the whole set up of her room as much as possible. The room is perfect, I was very impressed! And the view she will have out that big window, is great. :)

  5. I am looking forward to stopping over once in a while to give her a hug (you too). I wonder if she remembers me? I looked up to your folks at JRBC, and loved watching & listening to the guys play in the band on Sunday & Wed nights! Maybe we can work on a puzzle together:-)
Praying still, for you all...love you! Pam

I hope she enjoys her new surrounding, and I know she will enjoy you.

  7. Yes, Pam. You need to come over and do a puzzle with us and I need to get you a copy of those tapes my dad left us.

  8. Hope your Mom soon settles in and you can have some crochet lessons. I never have learned and wish I had asked my mum to teach me. She is now 88 and I think she would not want to be bothered too much now!

  9. I hope she is able to adjust quickly. I remember when my grandparents gave up housekeeping, it was such a change for them. We are almost to that point with my mother in law, too. It's so hard to see parents get old.
