For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11
It's a common verse of scripture, a favorite of many, and a comfort to those who are discouraged. I didn't go looking for it, but it keeps showing up lately. It's on one of the giant banners gracing the room where I've been meeting with a friend for Community Bible Study. That's when it first caught my eye, but, not wanting to claim what wasn't mine, I brushed it off. But of all the 31,102 verses in the Bible, it continues to show up.
I'm finding
a lot of anger and sadness in my heart lately, so it is comforting to know that I have a Father in heaven who still reaches out to touch my heart. I have a God who brushes away the tears and thinks thoughts of peace toward me, even when I am feeling so very far from where I want to be. I am not alone.

Your honesty touches me too, as much I feel, I do not share on my blog. I will say yesterday we spent time with our middle daughter and hubby. She is dealing with similar issues, and it breaks my heart, I cannot fix her. We never stop parenting do we. I miss my mom, she'd know what to say. So I'll just pray...and leave it in God's hands. Love you forever!
ReplyDeleteWanda, there are days when I wonder why God put us on opposite sides of the country. I thank God for you and love you so much.
DeleteMuch like Wanda, there are things that I do not share on my blog. Pressing forward trying to be a parent and the person that I need to be to so many. Anger and sadness here recently as well. You are not alone in your life's trials.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Michelle. We can pray for each other knowing God understand each and every story. It is good to know I'm not alone.
DeleteLove that verse. Praying for you. Love you lots. <3
ReplyDeleteThank you, Rachel. I love you too.
DeleteThanks for the gallivanting yesterday. It was good.

You're definitely not alone. How would we ever make it if we were?
ReplyDeleteThe verse(s) I keep seeing lately: I Thessalonians 5:16-18 Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.
There are a few verses that keep popping up for me lately, but Jer. 29:11 is the one that I'm noticing most. He knows just what we need and when.
DeleteThanks for being in this life with me, Joeks.
