Feeling the Strain

Sometime the pressures of life build and we feel ourselves sagging a bit under the weight. With a good support system we can stay on our feet until the pressure lets up. I'm pretty sure I can do this as long as I don't get my legs kicked out from under me. See me sagging? Prop me up a little bit or lean into me until I can catch my balance again. If you hear me let out a groan, it just could be that I'm feeling the strain. Please don't panic. I'm not about to collapse as long as I have someone to lean on.

Thanks.

Please don't think I am about to fall over. I just have my moments of frustration, that's all. I'm not feeling miserable, I'm not going over the edge, and I'm not tearing my hair out. I am okay, really, I am.

  1. Martha, I'm singing a song...can you hear me... it's "Lean on Me".

I know California is a long way to lean...but I'm here!

  2. In the words of my mother...and I sing...
"Just what makes that little old ant...think he can move a rubber tree plant?...anyone knows an ant can't...move a rubber tree plant.
But he's got high hopes, he's got high hopes...he's got high apple pie in the sky hopes!"
You can live by motto...nothing a good nap, a funny song/joke...and a huge piece of chocolate cake can't cure!
    Love you!

For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
Thankfully, you don't have to hold stuff together on your own! ♥ ☺

  6. Martha,

You have a lot on your plate, but the Good Lord is able, His strength is made perfect in our weakness. I'd like to stop by, maybe some evening during the next week or so to visit with your mom, whenever is best for everyone. Then maybe you could have some free time to do what you want to do, to have some time for yourself. My sister, Kim, likes to say "J-O-Y" stands for Jesus first, others second and yourself third -- but I've reminded her that it is JOY and not just JO!

  7. The very hardest part of this for me is communication. Mom is hard of hearing and on top of that often forgets what she does hear or appears as though she may not be processing it at all. Keeping my tone and volume sounding and feeling respectful is a challenge I'm not sure how to overcome. I am gaining a new understanding of people who were past caretakers who I thought were gruff with their family members. Lord, help me. I've got that FAIL stamp across my forehead again. :(

  9. Thanks, I'll give her a call. I have a good idea what you're going through with a barrier in communication. I go through the same thing with my father, who's hard of hearing and has some memory issues. It's a frustrating thing not to be able to have a "regular" conversation and talk things out. Keep looking up -- and congratulations on your new granddaughter!
