Transfer

It's been a rough couple of months at work. I haven't worked a full week since the first one in December, This week I was scheduled for just 9 hours, but have been assured "it's nothing personal." Okay. Well, thanks a lot, I guess... I've been tossing applications out into the atmosphere for several weeks. A couple weeks ago I found an area Dunkin looking for a team member and decided to apply. LOL! (All the area Dunkins save one or two are owned by the same three individuals, a brother and sister, and her husband.) Well, I got a response and Monday I transferred to one that will give me more hours and a more regular schedule. I'm exhausted. Ha ha! Partly from working, and partly from getting so little sleep over the weekend because there wasn't a whole lot of communication throughout the process. On Thursday I was transferring to 4 Corners and on Friday I was told Rt 250 in Penfield. Nobody wanted to confirm the location with me and so I got up at 5am Monday hoping to be accepted at the new store. So far so good. I think I'm going to like it.

We've been getting some terribly cold weather. Not quite as cold as Minnesota, but Minnesota like. Frigid. Unbearable, unless one is a Minnesotan. Speaking of Minnesota, I am so proud of them.

Pippy, my cat has been naughty lately. last week he peed on my bed twice. One night I was up doing laundry at 10:30pm. Two loads, with steam coming out of my ears... And then again two days later.  I'd even bought him a littler box. He didn't like the first one. The litter was too fancy... And the second one I brought in a little too late. Waaahhh! Needless to say, he was banished to the garage during the cold snap and did use the box out there. Hannah build him a nice little insulated box to sleep in, and I took him to the vet on Monday afternoon. He does not have a urinary tract infection, but he did have a check up and got caught up on his vaccines. I'm watching him like a hawk lately and can scarcely wait for the next cold spell. Here's hoping he just uses the box.

Also, my sister and I went out for a winter walk on Sunday afternoon. The walk through the woods was amazing, the temperature was brutal down at the lake, and it was just what I needed.

The Weekend

The weekend is over and it went by much too fast. I got my laundry washed and folded, but my room is an utter disaster (again). Ha ha! Story of my life.

I worked from 9 am til 6 pm on Friday, came home exhausted, and put myself to bed early. I found Sergio and Idris playing soccer in the backyard when I same inside and sneaked back out for my camera to snap a few pictures before they knew I was there. "I make a goal," he said as he ran through the grass with the ball. He is doing great for a little guy not quite three.

I had an appoint- ment Saturday morning and then met my sister at her house. It was too beautiful to be inside, so we took a walk by the Erie Canal in Pittsford, NY. So pretty. Maybe another time we'll take a boat ride.

Today, after church and Sunday School (I went to both!), I drove out to Williamson to find Number Nine at Abuela's house where he'd been for the morning, and took him home with me. We took a nap and then went out to the Fireman's Park to play for an hour or two. Hannah and Sergio had taken a day trip for their anniversary which is why the grandmas were watching the child.

Tomorrow it us back to the kitchen and all my little friends. I believe grilled cheese is on the menu, and that should make everyone happy.

A New Day

This morning a bright new day dawned. I got up at my usual time, drove toward work, and then took a small detour when I was just about there. I didn't have to be to work until nine o'clock this morning. My sister Priscilla had a meeting at her school at nine o'clock too. Since we had the chance, we jumped at it, and met up for an early breakfast at The Log Cabin.

The parking lot, which is full of classic cars on their web site, was pretty much empty, but the door was unlocked so we ventured inside. For half an hour or so we had the entire dining room to ourselves and I found it very nice to have a morning meal with the sister I don't often catch up with. I ordered an omelette with broccoli and cheddar cheese, and home fries. (Notice the photo is old and was not taken at the Log Cabin. It was taken somewhere in the Adirondack Mountains several years ago when this sister and I went off on an adventure.) I saved half of my omelette and half of my potatoes for lunch.

Work was busy and I got out at closing time. This was planned and will be the same tomorrow, only I won't be going out to breakfast. After work I went to my sister Rachel's house. I worked on a jigsaw puzzle with her mother in law, and Rachel fed me a hotdog, some potato salad, and "trucker sized" chunks of watermelon. It was a good day and I am tired. Now that my room is cooling down, perhaps I can go to sleep.
