The Trio was here today. Aubrey found a brand new package of Play-Doh in Grandma's toy cupboard and thought it sounded like great fun. Funny how the things we fear the most, like Play-Doh (think of it stuck in the carpet and/or squashed into the floor boards...), are the things that often entertain children for hours.
There was enough Play-Doh to go around, in colors cool and fancy. Lucas made a very nice looking volcano, complete with orange lava flowing down the sides of the cone. Later they sat at the table rolling the dough into balls. From the looks on their faces one might conclude they are making poop... Sometimes I try not to overhear conversations or ask too many questions.
The Play-Doh survived the day and will likely reappear next week. As much as I fear its presence, I do like the way it keeps the kids busy. I was a little less than pleased when I found one of the boys collecting up balls of burdock he had strategically hidden about the living room; inside containers, behind items on table tops... I half expect to find a few clinging to the couch pillows or flattened into the rug.
I'll have to remember to "find the humor" when and if I find the burdock. They're only little once and so very full of wonder and curiosity, not to mention mischief.

Pardon my ignorance...but what is burdock?
ReplyDeleteMarilyn from Canada
It's like little balls of Velcro (Velcro was apparently patterned after it) that grows out in the fields and woods. Or sometimes untended gardens...
