A New Day

What a beautiful winter day! It's 14 degrees with wind chill that makes it feel more like -6°F (-21°C), but the sky is clear and the sun is shining. The icicles are evaporating quickly in the wind and the sun makes what is left of them sparkle. They're also starting to point in an easterly direction. This morning trees and plants on the east side of the house were encased in snow, kind of like they had been in the ice a few weeks ago. There is a new beauty in each and every morning.

  3. Okay, you were not kidding about the icicles pointing easterly? They really are affected by the wind or what makes them point anyway but down?

  4. As the wind continues to blow for days the icicles begin to have a slight easterly curve to them. It's too cold for them to grow right now, so they are just slowly disappearing instead.
