S is for switch.
Normally I do my banking and go shopping on Saturdays, but this holiday season I am planning on pulling a little switcharoo and changing my errand day to Monday or Tuesday. I don't mind going out on Saturday during Christmas, but I think it would be a wiser use of time to do most of the running around on a calmer day of the week. Besides, Saturdays during the month of December are really meant for parties and playing.

I agree ~ I like in the middle of the week errands. Usually I do that on Thursdays, as when I visit Elizabeth, she's one block from a Target and Trader Joes...I can't get visiting and shopping done with one trip.
ReplyDeleteWhat throws me off is small children and pay check. :)
DeleteI always avoid weekends for shopping although that's not always possible. Carver, ABC Wed. Team
ReplyDeleteShopping on Saturday usually isn't too bad, but this past Saturday it was already noticeably crazy.
DeleteIs this your eccentric thing, to switch shopping days? Just kidding. Saturdays are crazy out there, especially during this season. Maybe some Monday I can come shopping with you!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes! We should do that. It would be a blast!
DeleteI hate going to the store on the weekend...
ReplyDeleteI get everything done during the week...
Especially in the summertime...
Once I pull into the cottage...

I would go out tomorrow, but I've already been out yesterday and today. :0)
DeleteOooooops!
DeleteBack in the 1980s, I didn't like to take long vacations. So I would take off every Wednesday for eight weeks. Great day to do chores.
ReplyDeleteRight now I could use a whole week full of Wednesdays off.
DeleteOh I so agree with you! I cannot stand the crowds during the holiday time - I used to be able to shop til I dropped, but no longer! I start to have hot flashes instead! lol

There is still a part of me that finds shopping in a crowd, and even driving in a Christmas traffic jam, part of the holiday excitement (What I mean is that it doesn't fluster me), but I get frustrated by the fact that every weekend is full of other holiday activities. If all my weekends are full of "other" things then I'm left with no time to shop and that is just sad.
DeleteI think every Sat and Sun in December is booked for parties and programs, going to be LOADS of fun. So the weekday is the only days I have to shop.

I have gone to the store this evening (Friday) for milk, bread and eggs. I am not set until at least Monday. :0)
