Summer was made for picnics, and picnics were made for hotdogs. Or... maybe hotdogs were made for picnics.... Yeah, something like that. Anyway, those hotdogs are likely to show up in a picnic somewhere this summer, so...
1. Do you like hotdogs? (It's okay to like them, really it is.) And if you do, what kind are your favorite?
2. How do you "dress" your dog? Ketchup? Mustard? The works?
3. What do you eat along with your hotdog? Or are they a meal in and of themselves?
Slow down and enjoy your surroundings.

1. When I was a small child my mom bought some cheap hotdogs. They were terrible. I couldn't eat hotdogs for years afterward. However, I do like a good hotdog once in a while. Skinless reds are my favorite, Zweigles or Wegmans.
ReplyDelete2. I usually like just ketchup and mustard, of course, if chili is available, I 'll take a chili dog any day.
3. By themselves hotdogs are just a snack. Baked beans and mac or potato salad will turn the into a meal.
1. I don't really like them, but I use to eat them if I had to. I don't eat meat anymore so I won't eat them, but I tried a veggie dog the other day...it was weird.
ReplyDelete2. Ketchup and relish
3. Usually potato salad or chips and you can't forget the watermelon!
Ah, yes! Watermelon, with seeds, so I can spit them at my sister.

Yes, watermelon seed spitting fun! Now most of the watermelons are seedless. I got one with tiny seeds this week and was quite surprised when my youngest spit a seed at me at the dinner table. Who taught him manners?! ;)
Delete1. I used to like them, but only BBQ'd. I can't eat them anymore as I have developed a severe allergy to gluten. I have found some GF European ones though and once in a while I cut some up into Bush's Beans....mmmmm good!!
ReplyDelete2. If I could I would have them with ketchup and chopped onion.....yum.
3. Any kind of salad would be good.

It looks like Wegmans skinless beef hotdogs are GF.
Delete#1 Zweigles natural pop opens are the only real hotdogs, everything else is a wiener!
ReplyDelete#2 Mustard and onion, never ketchup!
#3 Grandma Brown's Baked Beans!
Gotta love those Grandma Brown's!

#1 I prefer Hoffman's over Zweigels, and red over white.
ReplyDelete#2. Mustard, sweet relish and ketchup. No onions for me.
#3 all of those typical picnic foods seem to be right to eat with it.
I am ready for a family picnic.

1. Yep--preferably grilled or roasted dark brown (not completely black) over an open fire.
ReplyDelete2. For "ever" it was only ketchup. Sometime relatively recently I switched to only mustard. And now I also like to add some sweet pickle relish. Never onions!
3. Potato salad (made without onions!) and chips round out the meal.
