Parent/teacher conferences meant a few extra kids in the house this afternoon. Tyler and Troy came on the bus and Makayla met us at preschool. At home the Lincoln Logs and Playmobil came out to play and blankets draped themselves over tables to create wonderfully exciting hiding places. Children ran circles through my living rooms and made lots of noise. It was chaotic and I liked it. (James opted to work away from home this afternoon.)
For days I have felt lazy and unproductive, but today I felt pretty good. After dropping the girls and Colton (we pick him up on the way) off at preschool I went to Ladies' prayer at church. After prayer I went to Staples and purchased a pack of banker's boxes, stopped at Wegman's for a few groceries, and was able to take them home before preschool was over. This afternoon I did laundry and made lunches for five kids, and... ta da!... I cleaned out my TV/game cabinet. The toys are all put away and the hide out has been dismantled. Maybe tonight I will dig through my closet and find the Christmas decorations. They say that snow is on the way!

Sometimes the busier we are...the more we actually get done. It happens to me too. I think it is because I have to structure my day and therefore...get more accomplished.
ReplyDeleteMartha, I do love your posts and that header is so fitting for your blog!
ReplyDeleteI like lincoln logs. Looks like the kid are having fun.
ReplyDeleteI loved blanket forts when I was a kid...and so did my four boys! I know what you mean about not feeling productive and then all of a sudden you get a burst of enthusiasm. We just got our Christmas stuff up over the weekend. You've been nursemaid, so you have a good excuse. :)
ReplyDeleteI like your Christmas picture on the blog! I tend to do better in the chaos too. If I don't have enough to do I get logey. But then too much and I go a little crazy. It looks like everyone had fun. I should have sent Caleb over!
ReplyDeleteSherri, next time the boys are coming on the bus, I'll give you a head's up.
