This is what I did tonight, cut the dead blossoms off my lilac bushes. I'm not quite finished cause some are to high to reach without a ladder. And, my allergies are killing me out there. I spent way too much time pulling weeds around my blueberry bushes this afternoon. Now not only am I sneezing, but my nose is so stuffed up I can hardly breathe! It must be nearing the end of this allergy season, and then we will be on to the next.

I sympathize with you on the allergies, I got some of my own, don't usually get stuffed and sneezy, but it has hit me hard this time, wheeze, wheeze, sneeze..ahh-chooo. I don't even have a productive thing to show for it like pruned anything. Just a well dusted house. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm taking allergy medicine, but forgot the other day, and it just about killed me. I felt head achy and could barely function because I felt so drained of energy. Now I feel better. I hope you feel better soon too.
ReplyDeleteI am very thankful that I don't have allergies. I didn't know lilacs were so much work.
ReplyDeleteAm I suppose to prune my lilacs? I have never done that. Although, Craig thins them out once in a while.
ReplyDeleteYup, you trim off the old dead blossoms and give 'em some extra love... That's how it's done :)
ReplyDeleteYou poor women!
ReplyDeleteI've never pruned mine either. Does it make the bush fuller?
ReplyDeleteI don't know. It's Bethany's fault, she the one who started trimming them.
ReplyDeleteYour picture brought back a memory. My son is 41, and he had a little red wgon and looked so much like your picure. Thanks for a trip down memory lane.
ReplyDeleteMy oh my, my Martha bud...you have such a wondrous way of seeing the world and it makes me sooo happy to see this...Even when your totally flaked out on your back porch relaxing after a day of heavy labour, there you are seeing the things around you and loving each and every one...thats what is so wonderful about these digitals..to be able to see the world through the eyes of other folks...and for me to see the world through your eyes is such an honour. Thankyou!
ReplyDeleteps...and that "Flicker" bird..he looks, according to the stump..that he has been busy on that tree for years!..great shot!
