Bitter Cold and New Camera Lenses

It's cold outside, but as of this evening we have no snow. If the weather is kind tomorrow,  I will take a drive to return my son to his home away from home. If we have a blizzard... well, I might keep him a while longer.

I've not had the chance to try out my new camera lenses. I'm a little bit wimpy when it comes to bitter wind chills, but I did point it out the door and grab a shot of those dried out sunflowers just off the back porch. I think I'm going to have some fun once I get used to it. And once I learn how to change lenses without struggling to get the next one on again.

If only I could get my driveway side of the house windows crystal clear and clean, the maybe I could get a good shot of that little red squirrel who's been scampering around in my weeping birch. By the time I got my long lens on the camera, he had found cover and was nowhere to be seen. He has to live in that tree somewhere, maybe in one of the big knotholes.

I'm liking the look of the woodpile. If only someone would poke their head up in there instead of on my counter in the dark of night. I wouldn't mind so much having little friends out there.

  1. IS that my Red there?
He must have gotten fed up here...as I have not put any seed out lately...
I think you should just leave your lens on!
Take a million with it on!
    I assume it is a ZOOM lens...awesome!
Mine has one built in...don't think I could change lens every time...would have to wear my glasses...now I can hardly see the settings anymore...oh geesh...rambling again!
Did you find out who sent you the book?
Perhaps it was a random act...did you tell anybody about the book??
    enjoy your evening...
    Cheers!

    1. The camera lens is a Canon 70-200mm zoom. Perhaps I will catchy my "Little Red" tomorrow., even if my windows aren't sparkly clean.
I need my glasses to see almost everything in reading range now. Hate it, but am thankful for glasses.
The book. I have no clue as to how or why it ended up here. I will have to practice my sleuthing skills as I do not even recall mentioning it to anyone. It can be pretty pricey in some book shops online. I may never find out how or why it appeared on my doorstep. Maybe it was a Christmas gift from mu mom. ha ha!

    2. "Catchy" Silly laptop likes to grab my letters and stick them where they don't belong. I'd stuck a y on the end of "price" and wondered where in the world it went.

  2. You will have fun with your camera lenses! Look and see if you have a white dot on the lens and one on the camera near the lens hole. On my Nikon, you line up the two dots and then twist the lens up toward you to attach it.

    1. I will look for that, Betsy. Sometimes I feel like such an imbecile... However, I do know what looks good.

    2. I also watched a few little youtube tutorials on my specific camera and lens. Several of them were really helpful...just short little lessons.
