There times when I seriously question my own sanity. I am pretty sure that I have something called Acquired Attention Deficit Disorder (AADD), or I would if there was such a thing. I think it comes from endless years of having my thoughts and conversations interrupted by children and everyday life. Anyway, after running a few errands with Hannah and Emma this morning, we stopped in Wegman's for a few grocery items; lettuce, sour cream, taco seasoning, sugar, and ice cream. (It's Mom's birthday...) Rather than take the ice cream all the way home just to drag it out again tonight, I decided to put it in Mom's freezer. When We arrived at Mom's house I found my purse missing! I knew exactly where it was... It was in the little grocery cart I had put in the cart return back in the grocery store parking lot. I raced back to the store just in time to see the boys bringing in a whole slew of carts none of which contained a purse. Next stop, Customer Service. "This is a bummer!" said Emma and I had to agree. I was blessed (and relieved) to find that someone had indeed returned my purse to the store. I suppose I have stumbled upon one very good reason for storing my car keys in my purse rather than my pants pocket. I won't be able to drive away without my purse.
Did I tell you that I was expecting? Well, yes it was a baby I was waiting for. She arrived in the mail today, naked, wrapped in newspaper, and sealed in a cardboard box. Emma was quite happy with her appearance and right away decided we should get out the big box of baby clothes and dress her up. The new baby, dressed in pink, will make a good friend for my other doll. I expect them to have many grand adventures together this year.
Slow down and enjoy your surroundings.

You must tell where these babies can be found? So realistic! And PTL there are good people in this world, and your purse was waiting for you...wheeeww!! Pam
ReplyDeleteThese are Berjusa babies. The Hispanic baby I bought several years ago in the Doll's House that used to be in the Webster village. The other one I bought on ebay and she cost me half of what the other did including shipping.
ReplyDeleteNice teaching tools!!
ReplyDeleteI had the same experience with leaving my purse in the cart. I raced back, no purse, check with lost and found and a young man had turned it in. He was still in the store, and I tried to give him some money to thank him, but he said, no, it was just the right thing to do.
ReplyDeleteGod love that man, and the person who turned in your purse too.
The dolls are darling, and love the doll clothes too.
Okay Martha, I officially love you! First the syndrome you have, which describes me to a T, especially the part about having thoughts interupted for years...(these guys cannot understand why I am sitting right here but it takes a few tries to break through to me sometimes..duh, I am thinking!)I have also left the purse behind.....and the DOLLS, I love them! I have my eye on a doll in BJ's...it is SO cute...I like how you enjoy the simple things in life...
ReplyDeleteI think I know that doll in BJ's! She caught my eye for two reasons. One, she is cute, and two, her name is Emma.
ReplyDeletePS. I is nice to be loved officially. :)
Martha...I am soon to be the proud parent of a berjusa baby girl! I'm so excited to get her! I'll let u know how I like her "in person". She looks much like your new baby:-)) Pam
ReplyDeleteCongratulations, Pam! Maybe we can get together and play dolls. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to build up a small supply of little girl things for Laramie's little Kaelyn when she comes to visit. Austin has a basket full of toys, and although K. is still in the baby toy stage, I need to get ready with some girly stuff (they grow up fast)! I love dolls & was very excited to see these lifelike babies of yours, so I hit E-Bay, and won (it was very cheap)...I can't wait to see her:-)) Now I may have to check out that BJ's doll! Pam
