13 Things I Didn't Do Today

1. I didn't get up early enough to take a shower.
2. I didn't drink my morning cup of coffee. (But I am drinking my afternoon one now.)
3. I didn't make applesauce. (But I did dump the burnt stuff out on the compost pile.)
4. I didn't go grocery shopping, although I did stop for bread and still need to buy milk.
5. I didn't mop the kitchen floor, but I did sweep it.
6. I didn't clean the bathroom... maybe tomorrow... maybe.
7. I didn't make supper... yet. But I will.
8. I didn't wash laundry but I did fold some.
9. I didn't talk to Shelly or Priscilla but I did call them. (Nobody answered.)
10. I didn't go for a walk, I took a nap instead.
11. I didn't run the vacuum cleaner but I probably will soon.
12. I didn't mend Hannah's overalls.
13. I didn't bake a pie.

Baking a pie sounds like a good idea. It doesn't take too long and is usually much appreciated. Besides, it makes my house smell yummy.

  3. Fall headaches induce sleepiness. If my eyes weren't so achy I would stay awake instead.

  4. Poor Barty! I can sympathize with the headaches and sleepiness. My allergy pills have kicked in again and I'm feeling better again.

  8. they say..folks who take a nap are the healthiest folk..I don't know who "they" are..but I love them anyway..there is sooo much pleasure in little naps..
    Now..for the lecture..
To My special daughter Martha..and my super special grandaughter, Bethany...You two do so much in this world..to measure what you "don't do" is unbelievable..Who says that one must get up early every day..work for the world and family and friends till you drop and then if you have time..you will do the laundry, get the supper, bring in the laundry, pick apples, baby sit the neighbours, wash and put away breakfast lunch and dinner dishes..do the shopping and pick up children at nursery school, pick enough apples and bannanas to last all winter, stoke the fire, put the cat out, sweep the floors, do the vacuuming, feed the animals, let them in and out..give the batrooms a good going over..change the toilet paper, put in new paper towels, iron those special things..and then to top it off..so that the family (okay me) keeps s omehow in touch with your life, you have kept the most marvelous blogging site in the whole darn internet..at this point you could have at least 7 books over the years...Do you two know how much I sooooo appreciate you..if you don't do anything all day but listen to your body say "okay kid, today is a heckn's with work day, rest and listen to me..with NO guild!" or you work all day...most of all I am selfish and I rush every night to your blogging site to see what my family are doing..how they are feeling, whats new..etc..its sooo important to me and I will guess that there are a number of folks who come here every day to see what is new in your life...to look at your incredible archival photos whether its your own or an old photo that you cherish and share with us, along with the memories you have...this is all toooo wonderful for words..and then there is Bethany who has shared her special time with us...I can't tell you nor is there enough words to express how I feel about this blogging site...and another thing..you have saved a fortune in long distance communication..if I don't see something here..I worry..so thankyou a million times over..much much love and thanks gramanita
