In a Fog

It has been raining for two days now. Tonight we are supposed to have the junior high kids from church over for a bon fire. I'm not sure even gasoline will light that
pile of brush tonight. It's absolutely soaked. Luckily, we have a wood stove so maybe, as a last resort, we can have the kids in the living room and toast some marshmallows in the house.

  2. Yes, it was very foggy today. As I was walking to school it was so misty that my glasses got all wet which made it harder to see.

  4. One time when I was in junior high school, it was so foggy out that it looked like the school building was missing. We couldn't see it at all until we got closer.

  5. It's lots of fun doing s'mores in the woodstove - though it does get a little hot!!

Sure hope it dries up for Jessi's party tomorrow!

  6. I love cloudy, rainy foggy, cool days. Perfect for sipping hot tea, cross stitching and relaxing. Hope though that it is a lovely day for Jessi's shin dig! Michelle-ozark crafter

  7. It was a very sleepy day (see my blog). I hope you guys can have your bon fire tonight! We used to do smores with our boys in our fireplace in Gananda. They loved it!

  10. Martha, did you take those photos??

    Are they of your place??

    They are absolutely stunning.

How did the 'bonfire' around the wood stove end up?

We've had a lot of rain lately - which is good for us = we've been in a drought for quite a few years now.

  11. Ruth, Thank you. Yes, I took these photos here at home. (Digital cameras are great!) The top one is looking down our driveway and across the street and the other is what we call "Teal Lake". (Looks more like a river in the photo) Normally there should be grass back there, but when it rains a lot it stays flooded and we end up pumping it into the drainage ditch.

The Bonfire... We were able to find some dry wood and make a fire out back but the mosquitos kept the kids from being out there for long.

  13. Yes Martha, many have said it all..but I had to make a comment also, of course...You are soooo great with that camera...the subjects, well you are extremely fortunate with that also..you certainly have been blessed with an abundance of great subjects..but it is all in the eyes of the beholder..and a wonderful thing it is to see the world through your eyes..
Those fog photos especially beautiful...many are put of by rain and fog..but I love it also..the colours of the world are so much more vivid..and the fog is like a wonderful veil of chiffon covering the background of many photos...great job Martha...hope I experience this all also..very soon..can't wait...love you yogramanita
