Okay, so on closer inspection today, we have come to the conclusion that our backyard friends are not "frogs" but toads. We have loads of toads! Mating toads. Anyway we caught a few this morning and then put them back. They are icky.
Toads come in brown and green and have ugly bumps on their backs. The like to live in our gardens in the summer. Sometimes they live under a rock or in a "Toad House".
to be much more intelligent, live in the drainage ditch. This is a frog. Doesn't he look wise?
Yuletide Greetings.

You caught mating toads, that would be icky!
ReplyDeleteIt looks like things are pretty exciting over at the Teals place. So the kids had sex education today in school, huh? Lol!
ReplyDeleteWhat makes a frog smarter than a toad, the fact that he's not mating? I think he's scouting for a lady toad by the looks of it!
I see the puddle is continuing to shrink.
I don't know...do frogs pee in your hand when you pick them up? I think that's pretty smart, don't you?
ReplyDeleteI just noticed that my darling wife likes the idea of little froads hopping around in your backyard.
ReplyDeleteYour last question, "Doesn't he look wise", reminds me of the statement...
ReplyDelete"Don't get wise bubble eyes!" Looking at that frog, I wonder if that's where the saying came from. ;)
But how could you be sure that they wouldn't turn out to be trogs?
ReplyDeleteYou guys are too funny!
ReplyDeleteAnywho, the toads were in the swamp and the frogs were in the ditch. Sorry, no froads... or uh, trogs.
Trogs! lol
ReplyDeleteThose are really cool pictures.
I saw that movie "Trogs" and I loved the name Trogladites. Remember that song Burtha Butt Boggie. lol We have frogs and toads at my house and lots of Tads in the pond. I love my tads. Funny post,
ReplyDeleteGreg
So is toady went a courting, not froggy went a courting?
ReplyDeleteAhmmm. All sounds suspicious to me.
ReplyDeletejust don't let him drive your car.
