Today was fried cake making day. I haven't yet deter- mined just how successful we actually were... (They didn't turn out quite like I'd envisioned.)
... but I do have a nice little collection of dough- nuts. I'd try again, but I think I need to weight, uh, I mean "wait" a while. Don't want too many of these things hanging around.
A WONDERFUL ANNUAL CHRISTMAS EVENT

Oh yum! I wouldn't be able to stop munching on those! I bet they are delish! My mom used to make these and shake them in a bag of sugar/cinnamon while they were still warm. Heavenly. Why haven't I made them before? Might need to do that!
ReplyDeleteAnother thing crossed off your list!
I think I would need some practice to get good at making doughnuts, but it was a fun adventure. Next time I want to find a mashed potato doughnut recipe.
DeleteThey look great!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Come on over and eat a few!
DeleteI used to visit a cousin, who lived in Youngstown NY...
ReplyDeleteHer mom...Aunt Rose...used to make donuts...
If I close my eyes...I can smell them and taste them...
They were delish!!!
And..like Betsy's Mom...dusted with sugar and cinnamon...
Ahhhhhhhh..
Thanks for the tasty memory, Martha!
You deserve a cookie!!! hahaha!
Enjoy your evening..♥
Cheers!

Never tried donuts...don't know why...they look delicious. Maybe because my favorite one is a custard filled with chocolate on top and that sounds pretty hard.
ReplyDeleteOnly thing is, I need more people around to eat them or I'll be bigger around myself. :)
DeleteI bought a dozen fried cakes from Schutt's today on the way to visit Rachel.
