Vintage Toys and Little Boys

My grandsons came to play on Saturday morning. The Grandfather made us French toast for breakfast and Grammy was kind enough to bring the big box of Fisher Price toys down from upstairs.

Jake wasn't the only one to find the box of old playthings alluring. Spencer had a grand time playing "people" too.

One little truck especially caught his fancy. A little tow truck that belonged to one of my sisters over 40 years ago. Never mind that the hook is missing and the wheels are worn, Spencer thinks it's perfect.

While Spence took his nap, Aunt Sabrina took a little bit of time to sit and play with Jakie. Josh, a little skeptical of their farm, wanted to know what an elephant was doing in the wild west. Never mind the giraffe. He never questioned its   presence. Maybe he didn't even notice.

    1. My sisters and I more than made them worth the money my parents spent on those toys. They were our favorite things to drag out of the closet, along with the blocks we used to build houses. Still find it hard to believe they stopped making them.

I guess I am part hoarder, though I work hard to keep it under control.

I am here to offer words of encouragement and a listening ear. One day, not too long from now, I'll take a drive your direction and we can have lunch.

  3. I still have Fisher Price toys too :-) They were from my girls when they were little and their children enjoyed them too. We also have a suitcase full of Lego and the two younger. Ones of the crew aged 7 and 10 will play with that for hours......even the teens will if they are all here at the same time. It never grows old it seems.

    1. Yes. There have been a few of those around here too; cars, vans, tractors, trucks, a rusty old Chrysler Windsor, and a shiny red ambulance.
