3X Thursday

Three absolutely random and unrelated questions...

1. When someone says. "How are you?" how do you typically answer? Do you typically answer truthfully?

2. Are you related or distantly related to anyone famous?

3. Is there anything you wished would come back into fashion?

  1. 1. "Can't complain, but even if I did, no one would listen." or "Doing great"

    2. Mom said that Johnny Appleseed is my great-great-great uncle.

    3. Scrunchies...they hurt my wrists a whole lot less than rubber bands...because everyone knows you wear hair bands in your wrists ;-)

    1. I would listen. Because I love you.
We have Gramanita. She's practically famous.

  2. 1, I typically answer with, "I'm okay." which can be positive and upbeat, or not. You might have to be there to ell which one it is.

    2. My niece once rode in an elevator with George W. Bush. Does that count?

    3. Pants that stayed up in the back. I'm tired of seeing butt cracks and I don't care for the breeze either. ha ha!

    1. Oooo...I'm famous by association!!! How exciting!
Butt crack pants are the worst...I keep thinking that maybe my crack is growing, but pretty sure it's not.

  3. 1. It depends who is asking. If it's someone like one of my daughters, good friend, I am honest. Otherwise 'pretty good and you?'

    2. I am related to Granny Smith.......from the apple fame.

    3. I can't think of anything, but wait long enough it all comes back sooner or later. But pants that stay up in the back us up there!!

    Good questions Martha :-)

    1. What do you say if you're really having a hard time?

Yes, very distantly related to William Brewster, but directly.

    2. If I'm really having a hard time, I still say good because I'm alive, breathing, and still have purpose, and that's good. :)

      You said "distantly related". :)

  5. 1. I usually say, "Fine, how are you?" Regardless of whether or not I really am.

    2. Ted Danson. He is also a descendant of Jonathon Brewster...so that makes us distantly related.

    3. I think the hats on the women on Downton Abby are kind of cool....but I'm not sure if I would ever be daring enough to wear won.

    1. I forgot about Ted Danson. He's about as related to us as Ben's friend Clay who is also a descendant of William Brewster.

If they were in style we'd all wear one.

    2. Cokie Roberts is also a descendent of Brewster.

  6. Good Questions, Martha.

    1. Out of habit, I probably say just fine most of the time. If it's family for really close friend, and I'm not just 100% I'll share.

    2. Can't think of any, but Don saw Charlton Heston at LAX many years ago...Does that count??

    3. Long cotton nightgowns ~ sleeveless and inexpensive. No one makes real nice long gowns like Olga used too. Nordstroms has them for $85 ~ don't thinkso....

    1. I've been hearing myself say "okay" over and over, and thinking I need to change it to something a little more positive, even though I don't mean "okay" to be otherwise.

      I think it counts. :0)

My sisters and I used to get long flannel nightgowns for Christmas every year. I loved them, but I haven't had one in a very long time now.

    2. I'm so hot blooded I can't handle flannel, but love soft cotton or the Olga ones were like rayon. And always sleeveless. Actually they looked quite elegant, but they were so comfortable to sleep in. I've been a gown person for years.

When our kids were young, every Christmas I made the girls nightgowns, robes, and a pillow to match, and Myk pj's and pillow. They always looked forward to that. I'd make the girls doll clothes out of the scraps. I remember making Myk a blue rag doll from the scraps of his and he named him "Bed Stop" and had him for years. Funny, I hadn't thought of that for years.

    3. I remember those nightgowns, but I didn't like to sleep in them. I would get so twisted in them when I was sleeping and then I couldn't move, lol!

    4. Wanda, I'd imagine our snowy upstate winters are better for long flannel nightgowns. And Rachel, yes, they did get tangled up sometimes. But as a little girl I always thought they were pretty. I'm less impressed as an adult, and I know a guy who isn't impressed with them at all. ha ha!

  7. This has been fun reading the answers...for #1, I usually say either "Do you want the truth or do you want a lie?" "pretty good, how are you?"

#2...can't think of anyone famous in the family tree...no close encounters with anyone except a bad one and I won't bore you with that.

#3. I guess this is something I wish would go away...all the shirts that have such scooped necklines. I want just regular necklines...not ones that go down to the navel. I am a grandma, and that is not attractive at all.

    1. There is all together too much cleavage out there whether it comes from low slung tops or pants. I have to agree with you there.
Thank you for stopping by, Rose.
