Soup's On!

We had some visitors last night and one of them was oh-so-cute-and-cuddly!

I made a big pot of chicken soup, whipped up a nice salad and bought some rye bread. It was Spencer's first visit to Grandma and Grandpa T's house and I think he liked it.

I'd originally thought about inviting the entire crew, but fizzled out as the day arrived. In spite of that, we did have one surprise guest who said he was "driving through Williamson and decided to see if there was anything to eat at Mom and Dad's." I love when they do that! It was good to see Ben and include him in our visit.

  2. This is the first picture I've seen of him. I'm sure he's been on Facebook, but I've shut it down for a bit. Thanks for showing him. Hopefully I will meet him at Christmas.

    1. I hope you will too. Guess I need to get planning those gatherings. Now if only I could be certain of the days Jim and Michele will be home.

    2. Priscilla, It's the 2nd. I sent you a newborn picture in an email the day he was born. You even thanked me. :) He looks quite a bit different in this picture.

  3. I love it when babies are small enough to scrunch up on your chest and sleep like that. Best thing ever. :)

    1. Me too, Betsy. I got to hold him scrunched up and sleeping a few weeks ago, but at my house I have to take turns with Hannah. And of course, his mommy does the feeding.

Hard to believe any of them were ever that small.

  5. Oh Martha, he's beautiful...I just love that age, and how sweet they smell. Dinner sounds just perfect, and glad Ben could stop by. What a nice day.

  6. Children keep the home exciting, don't they? The Mrs. and I were just talking about that the other day. It's a mixed blessing, but we've help raise our grandchildren, and now we're helping raise our GREAT grandson, who is three. We can only count a handful of years where there were NO children in the house. We both love it though. What a joy they are! And I know exactly what you were feeling this weekend! :)

    1. Don, our house was so so busy last year and now it is so so quiet. I'm not quite sure what to do with myself most days. I miss the days of a house full of children, and yet on many of those days I longed for a moment of silence. I wish they'd all come home every weekend.
