Christmas in My Corner

Yesterday afternoon Hannah and Sergio went out for a little while and came back again with a Christmas tree for my cold and empty corner. They brought it in, set it up, and even trimmed all the scraggly branches off the bottom.

We pulled the lights and other do-dads out of the basement, and then I sat back to watch and document the festivities. (Is that cheating?) They found enough working lights to cover the tree with lots of sparkle. Imagine that!

It was nice to simply enjoy the process and not feel like I needed to get in the way. I sipped my coffee and decided to Skype Gramanita so she could enjoy it with me.

It turned out to be a very nice day, even though I'd had my misgivings about the Graham Cracker House Party. Now I can enjoy a couple of quiet days before the little ones return to find the toys really are out of reach. Maybe I'll find my copy of "How the Grinch Stole Christmas" and read them a story.

  2. Beautiful! Finding strings of lights that work is always a challenge in our house. How do they die just laying in a box? haha.

    1. It's kind of funny how they do that. Thankfully we have a great supply of lights. :)
