I took a break from the monotony of quiet days and had my grandchildren over for a bit of noise and excitement, There were toys strewn about the living room, blocks piled here and there, and books scattered across the carpet. We stirred up a double batch of sugar cookie dough and set it out on the back porch to get cold. There were a few tears and lots of laughing. We watched "Simon's Cat" videos and they're always funny. My house is disheveled and there are crumbs on the floor but the toys and books have all been put away and it's quiet again.
Maybe I'll roll, cut, and bake cookies tomorrow.

Well, that should make you feel better! :)
ReplyDeleteProbably made their mommy feel better, too. ha.
DeleteMommy was off cleaning houses. Daddy was glad for a break and a little "man work." I was happy (for once) with a crazy day.
DeletePerfect!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your quiet evening...
Cheers!

And that granddaughter is simply adorable♥️
DeleteMartha those grandchildren can certainly interrupt the monotony of quiet days! Cherish it my dear. In just a few years, those innocent squeals and giggles will be held inside, or totally outgrown. And that's a shame if you ask me. So, again, I say, cherish the noises!
ReplyDeleteDon, I will try to take that to heart.
DeleteNote to self- Cherish raucous giggles.
