It has become suddenly quiet and I am home alone with one small dog. Not only is it suddenly quiet, but I am suddenly tired. It's been a busy week so far. Two little boys stayed over for two nights. and on those nights we also had Josiah here. Hannah took him back to Auburn this afternoon.
Today we had not only two little boys, but two more little boys and a little girl. They generally bounce off each other, the furniture, and anything else that happens to be around, and make all kinds of racket. All in all I think it was a very good day, but now I am ready to be quiet and still for a time and start all over tomorrow with just two little boys and a girl.
I did not bake, cook, or clean today. I sat outside (and inside) and kept an eye on those children who must not be out of sight for even a moment of time. No wonder I'm tired and rambling on like a lunatic.

A Moment With Father David.

Your life is busy, even when it isn't busy. Looking forward to your break in Sept. I had to laugh when Jill called me today and said how did you do it with four. HaHa How did Martha do it with seven!!! And the beat goes on.
ReplyDeleteI don't think my family will ever let it slow down too much. There were times when I was raising my seven that all I wanted to do was run away and hide. Sometimes I did. ha ha! Ask my kids about how I sued to lock myself in my car out in the driveway. They would come out and knock on the windows. So sad... That seems a long time ago now. Perhaps it was training ground for grandchildren. :0)
DeleteWhen you're little, there's nothing more fun than climbing on an adult like that. haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it's quiet there now....for a few hours.
Those kids absolutely love climbing on obliging uncles. I think Joe was enjoying most of it too.
DeleteYes, a little piece of quiet goes a long way.
