That is the plan. Priscilla and I are going to climb a mountain. I am determined. Now if determination can get me to the top, then the top is where I'll be, but I would appreciate a few prayers too. ha ha! (You can start praying anytime, we start climbing on Monday morning.)
I leave you with a few photos from last night's dinner. We don't typically eat flowers, but since nasturtiums are edible, I decided to make our plates look pretty. Thisis Hannah's and mine looked much the same. I ate one flower and left the second. I like nasturtium leaves better than flowers. They're good mixed in with the other greens and vegetables and topped with a bit of salad dressing.
Oreo has turned into quite the beggar and since he thought something on our dinner plates smelled like chicken, he thought he'd take a look. (I was going to say gander, but we weren't eating goose... Okay, sorry. That was very poor joke.) I couldn't resist taking his picture. He really is kind of cute, in a naughty sort of way.
So, anyway, I will be signing off for a few days. Don't forget to leave me a note while I'm gone to the Adirondack Mountains with my sister. We should be back by Tuesday evening. I hope my husband and daughter can survive that long without me.

Wow! Enjoy your mountain climb! I look forward to the photos.
ReplyDeleteI are nasturtiums in a salad once. It looked prettier than it tasted. We are zucchini (do you call them zucchini in the U.S?) flowers last year. You cook them first. They were very yummy.
We are planning to climb a small mountain called Mt. Jo. Supposed to be a fairly easy climb. Good thing because I'm slightly out of shape.
DeleteI thought the flowers tasted a little "too pretty". My mom in law always raves about fried zucchini blossoms but I've yet to try them. I think we should have done that this year. We're inundated with squash.
Best of luck on your climb. I climbed a rather significant mountain some decades ago, and I must say it was a truly harrowing experience, and one I will never forget.
ReplyDeletePlating looks fantastic by the way, love the addition of the flowers.
Blessings, Catherine
Maybe next year I'll be in shape to climb something more significant, if I survive this one, that is.
DeleteThe plates were very pretty. I think I'll do it again, even if I don't eat the flowers.

The climb sounds fun! Are you camping out overnight? That part does not sound fun, but I'm a sissy. ha.
ReplyDeletePriscilla wanted to camp, but her husband didn't think that was a good idea. I don't mind camping, loved it as a kid, but we're staying in a small cabin instead. I'm all packed and ready to go.
