Strangely Silent

It is strangely silent in my house today. No small children sleep on my couches, no toys grace the floor, and no little voices call. My "flower gardening" job is suddenly over and, though I have plenty to do, I am finding myself not quite sure where to start.

I haven't been home alone in months! What does one do when home alone? Maybe I should make some coffee and see if I am as good at baking banana bread today as I was at rhubarb pie yesterday. Hopefully someone will come home to eat the stuff because I'm not planning to.

Or maybe I could clean out the cupboards...

  1. I sure know how you feel:-) It is so strange, isn't it?? So hard to know what to do next when you don't have lots of things that you HAVE to do.

  4. I got in a cleaning mood today for some reason and went from room to room....don't do that all the time. Usually take a room at a time. But it sure feels good to have a clean house...I'll bake tomorrow.

  5. I sense your loss-- big hugs. By your comments to Heather I gather that you have recovered. Hope the banana bread turned out nice.

  6. Enjoy the sublime solitude! I always feel that way on the first day of school. It really doesn't matter what you do...you can do it and think complete thoughts without being interrupted. Even work is a pleasure alone. At least for me it is. ha. And so much fun to get things done...or not. Make sure you relax, too!
