A Baking Day

Last week we had temper- atures in the 90's. It felt like mid-July. Today it felt more like late September or early October. It was a baking day. I made a box muffin mix (apple cinnamon) and a batch of snickerdoodles. Mmmmm!

My baking adventure commenced after Andrew had fallen asleep on my lap and before my friend Vinnie came to play. It was a good way to warm up the kitchen, but my resistance is low today and I cheated. I ate one cookie this afternoon and half a muffin this evening.

Tomorrow I shall behave once again. Back to salads for lunch and no yummy goodies outside of special occasions... like Father's Day or Nathan's 21st birthday... or maybe my 30th wedding anniversary.

  1. Yum. That all looks sooo good! It is so much cooler! We've had two days like this now, so tomorrow you probably will have another. Enjoy! Feels so good to air out the house!

  2. It was cooler here today too. Love the looks of your cookies. I would have cheated too.

I put a meat loaf and scalloped potatoes in the oven for dinner..warmed up the kitchen and it smelled really good. In fact, I posted a picture.

  3. Ooh Nate is turning 21? Maybe I'll pick up something in Wisconsin on my way out. Like cheese, maybe.

  7. What I really need is the months of July and August to get myself out there walking, working in the yard, and cleaning out my house. Letting someone else eat the cookies might help too. :)
