The Wonder of It All

"Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it." Luke 18:17

Wonder... It is found in the heart of a child and shines upon the world through the windows of his eyes. The world is fresh and new, and he is in awe. I have pondered this other days, days which seem now distant, and wished for the eyes and heart of a child once more.

We pulled out the Play-Do yesterday morning, rolled the dough flat, pushed it into the "fun factory" and watched it ooze snakes and long flat slabs. His eyes lit up, pudgy hands reached out to touch the cool substance, each color more enticing than the previous. How do I recapture the wonder, the joy of something as simple as Play-Do in my hands?

Does the elusive child-likeness really come in something as seemingly simple as being thankful? Can I truly find joy in all my everyday moments? Can I learn to be a grateful child?
