In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
1 Thess. 5:18

I finished reading my book but the journey has just begun. Can I find God in life's everyday moments and stop to thank Him even when it seems He is faraway? Can I open my hands, unclench the fists that have so long held darkness tight? Can I let it all go and praise Him for every thing, for every moment, good or bad? And how can "the bad" be truly so if He is in it?

  1. I love how that verse says "in" and not "for". I have experienced His presence in some of my lowest moments when I turned my pain turned into praise.

I love the old Russ Taff song that has this chorus:

    Praise the Lord.
He will work for those who praise him
    Praise the Lord.
    For our God inhabits praise.
    Praise the Lord.
And those chains that seem to bind you
    Serve only to remind you.
As they fall powerless behind you.
    When you praise him.

  2. Love what Bob shared. I've experienced that too. And that song says it so well.

  3. When I talked with your Mom the other night on the phone she reminded me that we have to "let go and leave it with God." She then added, of course we leave it but then we tend to pick it up again. I wholeheartedly admit that's exactly what I do! It's a lesson I seem to have to be reminded of over and over again...

  4. Bob, I can hear Russ singing in my mind...

I know the Lord was very near when my dad was sick and throughout his passing. Unexplainable peace.

Judy, it's good to know you are still there. Thank you.
