The Gift of Winter

So maybe my blog header and back- ground is wishful thinking after all, but wasn't it just a few short days ago I took the sunny photograph? Overnight we were plunged back into winter. Is there something to be grateful for in the midst of this icy grip?

Good book to read

The end of winter is not far off. We hunger for spring, having tasted her goodness. We know the promise of her arrival is near and we long to see that promise fulfilled, but for now we will savor the goodness of winter.

  1. Martha, I love your coffee mug...this is not the first time I've noticed it on your blog. I'm looking for one like it at the trift store. I think stoneware mugs are so nice and the coffee cake looks good too.
I just took peanut butter cookies out of the oven, and Don and I are having a cup of coffee and "ONE" cookie.
The weather forecast here is rain, snow this weekend as low as 500 ft. so that means our foothills will get snow again. Does this give me a "tiny" taste of NY?

  2. There is something nice about being under a pile of blankets.
