A Penny Saved

Today I ran errands with the kids. First we stopped at the bank so I could cash my check and then I paid off my Kohl's card and my Target card. I try not to put too much on them and have made it a practice to pay them off each month. So far so good. I filled up my gas tank for $3.79/gallon (and that was a good price) and ran in Wegman's for a few grocery items. I decided not to buy too much this week as my cupboards are still full, but I did need milk and so picked up some bananas, cereal, and cheese while I was in there. While out we also stopped in Walmart and K Mart. Ben and Nate were looking for clothes and Hannah bought herself a pair of sneakers in Payless. It's all about consolidating those runs to the store nowdays. Soon I will be running out again to take the kids to their Friday night teen group at church and James and I will be meeting Beth and Adam for dinner. By the end of the dayI will be ready to stay home for a while. (I'm trying to convince myself, but it isn't working...)

  1. Sounds like a productive day. I worked. I would've come home at lunch time since I had an hour and a half, but I opted to stay at work due to the expense of gas. Instead I camped out in the parking lot in my car with a magazine.

  2. That does sound like a productive day....I was feeling under the weather today, and haven't done any blogging.

  3. You did good, Martha. You got a lot done and did it all in one run. The gas is just crazy!

  4. Isn't it strange how we can now call $3.79 for gas the "good price"??? I've always been an advocate of consolidating runs to the stores, and I try to plan around doctor visits, etc, thinking it makes more sense in the first place... Now, I'm trying to get my girls to know that it's now imperative!! Sure, it's hard to be spontaneous, but we do what we have to! I enjoy your blog!

  6. I am proud of you! That was a lot of errands on one run to town. I get kind of compuslive when I start thinking about time management and effeciency. So I have to watch myself, I tend to over do the management issues. :)
