Suff, Just Stuff

It was cold when I left the house early this morning, but not as cold as when I came out of Wegmans several hours later. I actually checked my glove compartment to see if I'd left any mittens in there last winter. Yup, a nice pair of pretty red ones. Of course, I'm a little reluctant even yet to put on that winter coat. My mind is stuck somewhere in July.

I stopped in Walmart today too, in search of an electric can opener. It's not that I mind the manual kind that fit in my silverware drawer, but the tendinitis in my thumb balks and screams while I twist the handle and then sulks for days afterward. Unlike the usual Martha, I picked the most expensive contraption on the shelf. It takes the entire top off the can leaving smooth edges and cans good for baking Boston Brown Bread.

The Naughties are growing up. In another two weeks they will be 5 months old, and a month after that I will be dragging them off to the vet in an effort to keep them tame and sweet smelling. They still don't have individual names, but that will come in time. I've always wished we'd taken a little more time when naming pets as the "perfect" name typically comes along when personality and habits become evident.

  1. I'm kind of wishing we would get cooler temps around here. These 70's in November kind of put a damper on the holiday spirits! It was cool today but supposed to heat back up this week!

    1. Isn't if funny how it is hard to hard to feel in the Christmas spirit when all is green and sunny? We're cooling down, but rather slowly.

    1. The kittens are my new kids.
And, I am going to be glad for the new can opener once I find the need to open a can or two. James tried it out on a can of black olives the other night.

  3. The Naughties are wonderful. I think God was extra nice to create little critters that light up our lives. We waste so much time thinking of good pet names, then end up calling them, The Puppies and Old Kitty and Little Kitty, (or Bad Kitty), and Suri is also called Bill.

    1. I'm thinking they will remain The Naughties for quite some time as it fits them quite well. And ye, I suppose that is how we ended up with Little Cat even thought she is not at all little.
