Still Counting...

Many, O LORD my God, are Your wonderful works
Which You have done;

And Your thoughts toward us
Cannot be recounted to You in order;

If I would declare and speak of them,
They are more than can be numbered.
Psalm 40:5

We awoke to a fresh, clean blanket of snow, a gift for which not many of us were thankful. I wonder how many stopped to thank Him for the gentle, cleansing rain of yesterday. Why is it so easy to complain and yet so difficult to stop and say "thank you, Lord, for the beauty of today"? Spring will arrive on time, like it does every year. Yes, it will snow in April too. You might think that already having that knowledge would give us some sort of acceptance of it's presence, but that is rarely the case. Can I learn this habit of finding God's gifts in the everyday, saying thank you for what He offers, and voicing no complaint?

Thank you
- for the snows of March
- for sweet and sticky maple syrup
- for mud and flowers too

  4. I’m here from Ann’s today.

    From the psalm you began with to the question you ended with – I was blessed.

    My favorite one: - for mud and flowers too ( because I can hear my mom saying take those shoes off before you step one foot on that floor :)

    This was terrific. Thank you

    God Bless and keep you and all of yours.

  7. We love maple syrup around here too! It's the sticky part I am trying to be thankful for, especially with a 2 year old!

  8. I couldn't help but think of the little saying, "In acceptance lieth peace." Yes, spring will come, and the irritations of winter will be forgotten, and next year when the first snow falls, it will again be beautiful and wonderful. Loved the verse you posted. I wonder how many times He thought of ME today????
