Winter's Arrival

James and Ben arrived home this afternoon with a tree to decorate and, after the supper things were cleaned up, Hannah set to work stringing the lights. She is quite pleased that we actually have a real tree this year as last year we opted to use a table-top tree rather than go out and buy a real one. She and Ben both say "the smell of dusty plastic just isn't the same as having a real tree".

She didn't decorate totally on her own. I helped her string some of the lights and we both sorted through and hung ornaments. I suppose we will have to buy a box or two of candy canes as they do enjoy "picking" one every now and then. I sure don't want to disappoint anyone with something as simple and easy as candy canes.

The snow has arrived in abundance and I am thankful that today my tires have tread.

  3. CR wanted to put candy canes up on the tree and on the bushes outside like we use to, but we don't have kids to eat them and on the bushes in the northwest, it's to wet, they would just melt, so can he visit your tree for a little nibble?

  4. It looks beautiful! Isn't there something about seeing it lit up when the rest of the room is dim or dark, that gives you the warm fuzzies? :)

  6. Now that is a pretty tree! We are very lucky to live near all these nice trees growing near the lake, eh? They do smell nice. We had to put our candy canes up high on the tree, since Camille decided how much she likes them....
