Happy Birthday, Baby!

Every year goes by faster than the previous. Lucas turned one year old yesterday and this evening there was a big birthday party with plenty of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and cousins. Lukie was a good sport and wore a party hat for a bit, but really preferred to pinch the hats instead. He was more than happy to grab a hand and practice walking back and forth through the building. Soon enough he'll be walking on his own.

The snowman cake was yummy and the ice cream was delicious and Lucas received enough presents that we have decided to return everything we bought him for Christmas (or maybe save them for next year). I am kidding, of course. He got some very nice outfits and a few cute toys. I guess his toy box is not so full that he can't fit in a few more things...

  2. Awww, I feel bad we couldn't make the party, but it never would've worked for us since our thing in Henrietta was at 5:30pm. I will have to give him an extra big smooch and squeeze the next time I see him.

  4. I just saw these pictures and have to say he's pretty darn cute!!!!! My grandson turned 1 recently, and my daughter asked me to make the cake.. of course I made chocolate with fudge frosting!! It was fun to see him wonder what to do with it, then stick his hands in.. how adorable they are at this age, and it keeps on getting better!! I saw your comment on Della's blog re the dinner, and still shopping when the freezer's full.. I have only have 5 girls left at home now, and they are busy but they do love to sit down to a meal all together when they can, and they still have lots of fun, too. I think being at the table encourages them to resort to their childhood ways.. which can be fun. I guess the seasons change, kids grow up, then they have some.. life, as it is!! And how about that snow?? I'm sitting here listening to the wind howling and no one is going down 370 now!! At least I can't see them!! Well, take care.. I love reading your blog..it's like checking in on an old friend.. we must meet sometime!!

  5. Cheryl, do we have to wait until the weather gets warm again? Can't we just meet for lunch someday?
