3X Thursday

My mind is full of questions, but when it comes to sitting down and asking them, they scatter. Do I look confused to you?

1. My youngest daughter got married in September. They answer the perpetual question, "How's married life?" I suggested they agree on a couple of interesting answers and now I'm wondering if you have any suggestions.

2. Have you ever kept chickens? Good idea or bad?

3. Where is your favorite place to walk or hike? Do you go alone or take a friend?

  1. 1. "I haven't killed him yet"..."The house is still standing"..."We just bought matching footie pajamas"

    2. I honestly hate to think where my food comes from...only from the grocery store...and keeping chickens would do me no good. That being said, my sister-in-law keeps chickens and gives some eggs to Mark. He thinks they are way better than grocery store eggs. I think if you're ok with knowing how your food gets to your plate then go for it!

    3. Sadly I don't walk or hike. :-( No places to hike around here and I can only walk when Mark is with me now because of all the creeper stuff happening these days. Hopefully now that the sun is awake longer, I will be able to walk around the neighborhood more.

    1. 1. Annie, I can always count on you to make me smile.
      2. I've heard homegrown eggs are best too.
      3. Just take your nunchucks along and you'll be perfectly fine.

  2. 1. I remember this question. I would just smile, say "great", and throw back a, "How are YOU" question. I never really thought much of it when people asked me that. Just thought they were making conversation.

    2. Never had them, but have friends who do. Why not? :)

    3. Webster park is nice, but I like just walking the neighborhood too. Walking with a friend is always nicer than walking alone.

  3. 1. Truthfully, after 54 years I can say I'm getting the hang of it! HAHA. We are enjoying each other more now than ever. Part due to a wonderful Study on Life Long Love at our church.

    2. Mom raised chickens when we were growing up, so I saw it from start to finish. Buying the chickens, then eating them...and all that happened in between. I prefer store bought . HaHa

    3. We walk Molly in the morning and evening, and we go up a flight of stairs many times a day. Does that count. The Villa is a lovely place to walk.

  4. 1. I suggested they come up with a few agreed upon answers ahead of time. Then I didn't bother to come up with anything myself. I'd probably keep smiling and saying "good" myself, but found the thought of an unexpected answer kind of amusing.

    2. I think I'm about to find out. Stay tuned.

    3. The orchard is always a nice place to walk, I love walking in the woods, and walking about the neighborhood with a sister, daughter, or friend, is always good for the soul.

  6. I keep chickens and they are pretty easy. The eggs taste great. I only keep hens. I tried roosters.....once! Didn't like them!

    2. Chickens are lovely if you have room. Read up on them, but we had them when growing up and they eggs were great! This was in Australia so we didn't have to winter them and my mum put the manure on the garden!!!! She had beautiful flowers!!! :-) :-)

    3. I'm sure it will be okay and I will probably even love it. Having beautiful flowers will be a bonus.

  7. We were just talking yesterday, about getting chickens. We mull it over every once in a while. The only part I hesitate about is...more work! And then what about when we are out galavanting, or on vacation...out here there are foxes too, so chickens will not be free-range, or they will disappear. Keep us posted, I am very interested...:)

  8. 1. Fine.
    2. Never kept them but have a few friends who do. My friend, Melissa loves her chickens.
    3. I like walking along the lake. I just don't care for the walking route on the way to the lake. I miss walking with Sherman.
