We're having a snowstorm, a blizzard more like. We're staying home, feeding the wood stove, and taking it easy. Little Red is outside digging tunnels and scampering about looking busy. I watched him run in and out of his tunnels, pop his head up through the snow, and bury a black walnut.
The little sparrows find shelter in the bushes about the house and sometimes the only ones brave enough to face the wind and
the weather are those sweet little juncos. A red-bellied woodpecker was out earlier, but he's gone into hiding now.
My cats have opted to stay in where it's warm too. This one likes to hop up beside me and touch my arm repeatedly, or poke me lovingly with her claws.

Hey....this looks like my yard!!
ReplyDeleteExcept....no wildlife of any sort...
They are all hiding...
Trying to stay warm...
The Sun is shining brightly now...
But...still....ever so chilly...
Cheers!
Linda :o)
Apparently the house makes a great wind block.
DeleteNo sunshine for us today. Maybe it'll come out tomorrow.

I'm just a pinch too far south to have had any of that lovely snow! Sigh!
ReplyDeleteI have a cat that lovingly pokes with one claw, too. Jack....haha.
Gotta love cat pats.

You, and Linda...Oh my look at the snow. I miss having cat pats.
ReplyDeleteLinda and I shared the same snowstorm but she had it on Sunday and we had it today. It was a doozy!
