Snow, snow, snow! It's February in upstate NY, the month of freezing temperatures and massive amounts of snow. All fun unless you have to work outside or get anywhere in a hurry... or maybe get anywhere at all.
Yesterday Rachel and I went back out to see Tim. When we walked into the house, there he was walking down the hall! For the first time since June we didn't need a wheelchair to get him out to the car. His inability to walk was apparently caused by one of the psych drugs he was taking. Not only did whoever prescribes these rob him of his ability to walk, but they had taken the sparkle from his eye as well. No wonder Mom used to cry and say they used him for a guinea pig... I trust it is a blessing in disguise. There is something I like a little better about the people working in his new residence and had he not lost his ability to manage the stairs, he might have remained at the other house indefinitely.
Slow down and enjoy your surroundings.

How wonderful that they even were interested in tweaking his meds.....love that. Many would not have, especially if he had been on them a long time!
ReplyDeleteLove your snow! We're getting more on Thursday I hear!
I'm afraid they have been "tweaking" his meds all his life. Other drugs have also messed up his ability to walk, made him aggressive, and who knows what else. I've found myself wondering if they even know what he's like without meds... but I know he probably needs something.
DeleteI love him. <3 It was nice to have some good eye contact yesterday. The look he gave me when I went over those railroad tracks too fast was priceless. It made them worth going fast over. Maybe I'll do it again next time! ;)
ReplyDeleteHe loves you too, Rach, he always has. It was a wonderful visit. I'm so glad to see him smile again.
