Another Post #2

It's been a snowy kind of day. Nate left for work this morning but didn't arrive before sliding off the road and into the ditch. He called his dad who decided they needed a tow truck to pull the car out. Everything looked okay and once the car was free Nate conitnued on his way. Sliding into the snowbank can be a good way to learn some lessons about driving in the snow. I've been there and done that several times. Sometimes it is funny and other times it's downright frustrating.

The mid-week church service has been cancelled and so we will be staying in tonight. My trip out today was to pick Troy up from preschool. I passed a pickup truck with its front wheels stuck in the side of a driveway. I felt bad driving past without helping, but not knowing how to drive a standard there was little I could do.

My mittens did not arrive today as my friend Andrea was not keen on the idea of driving in this kind of snow. I think she was wise to stay home. The mittens will arrive another day.

  1. I remember sliding off the road. Unfortunately for me, I hit a few things on the way off. Look at my blog to see what happens to me :/

Chris sent me home as soon as I got to work today >:(

  2. I don't often let the weather keep me in... but today, it did. We stayed home from CBS in Canandaigua today. :( It just didn't seem like a morning to trek out.

BTW - I am astonished at the picture in the snow! You are amazing.

  3. I'm glad Nate was OK. It was not a fun day to be on the roads. We need some sunshine.

  4. No - I do not know her, but you can bet I will be looking for her now!
Is she the Pricilla listed in your blog list for your art blog? I can see her thumbnail picture.
We've been down in Canandaigua for three years [we did 4 years at Browncroft before that]. I am a CBS addict. :) Three of the kids have gone since birth. One since 8 days old! :D

  5. I drove Callen to Auburn today. It was a slippery drive. I decided that if was ever to slide off the road, all I would say would be, "Oh my, oh my, oh my!" I thought I was about to today, but I stayed on the road and off the sign. And only slid through two turns. Praise the Lord for His "safety bubble".

  6. Glad Nate was okay, and his car wasn't banged up. It was VERY slippery today. Luckily I have very good snow tires on my car.

  7. StacyB- I've gone to Browncroft for 11 years and to CBS for 3. You look very familiar so I'm sure I've seen you around.

  9. Wow - we're having a heat wave down under...and I still haven't even seen snow in person yet! Sounds cold over there. Will pray for continued safety for you (and travellers) in this weather.

  10. I guess upstate New York got hit really hard with the snow. We didn't get so much down here. It's best just to stay put sometimes when the roads are bad. I'm glad I don't have to drive in the snow!
