The Barn Collective

Yesteryear in Angelica, NY...

Tom, I wish there was a better photo of the barns, but I suppose if not for the family members, there might not be a photo with a barn in it at all.

Visit Tom.

  1. ...Martha, if these photos are from Peavy Road there isn't much left of these barns. Some Amish families have moved in and have built new barns, but old farms are being reclaimed by nature. Thanks for sharing, enjoy your little ones.

    1. My dad was heartsick years ago when hunters bought up the land and left the barns and houses to the mercy of the elements. There is nothing left of the farm where my great grandparents lived. I don't even know exactly where it stood. I am blessed to see the Amish build and inhabit farms in the hills. This is the circle of life.

  2. I remember posing with my brother and the neighbor's kids leaning against or sitting on various cars as time went on. Now seeing the photos after all these years, I wonder was it us kids or their cars they wanted photos of!

    1. That is a good question... I suppose they got two things accomplished at once by taking the picture of the kids along with the car. I like it.

    1. I LOVE old photos, especially photos taken by someone with a flair for the artistic. The bottom one of Uncle Al Shafer and the pig has to be one of my all time favorite old photos.
