Frigid temperatures discourage orchard walks. No leisurely stroll through the apple trees today, but things were different last Sunday when Cabinet Maker and I decided to take a walk between morning church and the Superbowl. We walked across the street and back through the trees, skipping over mud puddles and following the road that skirts a ramshackle barn where the farmer stores his apple crates. We met a shy dog along the way and on the way back stopped to talk to the farmer's wife who was out counting trees.
Couldn't resist posting the forklift parked in front of the stack of apple crates. Life in the orchard is interesting.
