I hope I'm not too late for this week's barn collective. My own computer is on the fritz so the photos of our own barns will have to wait. I didn't lose them, I just don't have the time to collect, edit, and resize them all over again right now. However, my sister and I went to visit our nonverbal, autistic brother on Friday afternoon and took our customary drive through the
drumlin farmland of Newark, Arcadia, and Sodus, NY. (I once asked my 4th grade son what a drumlin was and he responded,
"Long, low laying hills running north and south.") Ski slopes and farmland. It was a beautiful day.
This barn is on Heidenreich Rd just up the hill from the south end of the Zurich Bog.
Old Number 6 and his pals were watching from across the road.
Our brother was fairly patient as we stuck our cameras out the window and clicked away. He was rewarded with a small chocolate Frosty not long after.

Oh, I like the photo of No. 6 - and that poor old barn. But I love your header and background! xo
ReplyDeleteThis poor barn is the "open air" variety. Of coursr, that's what makes the photo. I couldn't go away without capturing Old Number 6. He's a beauty too.
DeleteThat header is one of my naughty kittens.

In our area drumlins are a feature of the landscape for sure. I'm often in the Zurich area, but have not found this open air beauty. I better get out to Heidenreich Rd before it collapses. Martha, thanks for sharing this week and I that you will return again with more "315" barns.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a nice collection of barns in "315" land and this is a beauty. I'll be back with more soon.

Oh, I love the one that has the kitty in front....just the perfect touch. Sure is a sad old beauty.
