Sleepy Time Tea

Apparently rest time is over... It's one of the perks of having multiple children in the house and a daddy who just returned home and doesn't realize his daughter hasn't even fallen asleep for her nap yet. Rocky won't be getting a nap today either. She hasn't had one all week, but then again, she did just turn four. Sometimes I'm pretty sure I'm the one who really needs a nap anyway, not the kids.

So, maybe I can turn this into a 3X Thursday...

1. Do you take naps? If you do, where do you sleep?
2. Do you have "jammie days" where you never bother to get dressed? Or are you one of those people who needs to be "decent" all the time?
3.If you have a pet, do you let it sleep with you? Or would you if you did have a pet? (or maybe you prefer a stuffed animal?)

Since I'm not going to get a nap, and since the children aren't going to be quiet, I may as well go mix up that batch of royal icing for the cookies I'm planning to paint.

  1. 1. I love a nap on sleepy afternoons and typically curl up on the couch in the living room.
    2. I rarely ever stay in my jammies all day. I may, on an extremely rare occasion, put my pj's on before actually climbing into bed. (It's probably a residual "Mom" effect.)
    3. Our animals are more than welcome to curl up by me when I take a nap on the couch (I actually like it), but we toss them out of the bedroom at night.

  2. 1. Naps are awesome!!! I will take at least one a weekend if I have time. I have to sleep in my room though because the bright light and noises of the day keep me awake. I'm too light of a sleeper to lay on the couch...unless I'm super tired
    2. If I could live in jammies I would...I even have a nice "going out" pair that I wear to walmart (it's sweat pants and a top, but still far more dressy than some people I see in walmart) ;-) Sadly, I spend most of my days in work clothes instead.
3.No pets...wait...do husbands count? He's pretty furry and I let him sleep with me ;-) If I had a pet I would totally let it sleep with me, unless it was huge then hubby can sleep on the couch and the pet can sleep with me ;-) Just kidding. I do have a darling stuffed panda that sleep with me every night...far less work than owning a pet.

    1. I let my husband sleep in my bed, so I think it counts. :)

  3. Fun, fun.
    1. Naps on the couch, or if I'm really tired, get into my night gown and crawl in my bed.
    2. I don't have "Jammie" days, because I don't own any...I've been a nightgown person as long as I can remember. But I have cleaned house in my gown.
    3. I would love to have Molly sleep with us...but she only does that if we are "sick"...she sleeps in her own bed or on the couch pillows. However, when we get up, before I can make the bed....she snuggles down and this morning..it was 11 before I got the bed made. Is she spoiled?? No the whole family smells that way. HaHa.

You are funny. Sofie sleeps on a blanket or a couch pillow too. Before we moved it, she slept on our little old couch. It's still here, but she doesn't seem to like it in the new spot.

  4. I never take naps.

I always get dressed, mainly because I never know if I'll have to go out to the bus for some reason. If I'm home all day, I don't wear makeup or mess with my hair too much. ha.

We almost always have at least one cat sleep with us. Four has been the max. But it's usually two.

    1. I don't suppose you'd want to get locked out of the house wearing your nightgown...

  5. I'm with Betsy....
Never been a nap person....makes me feel funny :o)
Not funny "haha", but funny "weird"...
Always get dressed...I need to be decent!
Might be leggings and a big sweater....but dressed!
The cats used to sleep with us...but more with the kids!
    Enjoy your evening...
    Cheers!

    1. Sometimes I wake up from a nap feeling weird too. Today I had a headache and just needed to close my eyes for a while. I got the chance when Dave (my son) took the kids out for a walk. Didn't last long.

  6. Naps on occasion, mostly on Sundays. On the couch if the TV is off, in my bed if it is.

Get dressed, but not until I shower, which lately is getting later and later...

No pets in my bed! unless they are the furless boy-child kind.

  7. 1. I love naps, just ask my husband. The couch is the best place for a nap because then it feels more like a nap and I'm not too far away from my family. Plus Koty can wake me up easier if he needs something.

    2. On Saturday I was cleaning house and had my comfie cozies (AKA jammies) on until about 2:00pm until I finally exercised and took a shower.

    3. Nope, no pets sleeping with me. Koty isn't even allowed upstairs unless it's bath time.

    1. Rachel, I think we must be related.
I was just telling James how hard it is for me to get up before the sun rises. I blame it on Mom because she taught us to stay in bed when it was dark out.

    2. I agree, I hate getting up before the sun rises. It should be outlawed.

  9. 1. Well I LOVE an afternoon nap, especially in the winter. I Iie back in my Lazy Boy chair, pull up the Eddie Bauer down filled blankie and off I go - sometimes for just half an hour, sometimes longer. In the summer I lie on the lounger on the back deck and have a snooze there sometimes.
    2. I have been known to sit around in my jammies for hours -even do the housework - then take a shower and get dressed, even at 3 pm :-)
    3. When we had a cat it slept in the bed all snuggled up to one of us. Now we have a big black Labrador Retriever who weighs 90 lbs, and no, he does not sleep on the bed, but he has his own bed in our room and he sleeps in there, and every now and then he checks on us - big cold nose on my face :-)

    1. Marilyn, I have been known to catch a nap on my back porch in the summer time. And, my cat actually went to sleep next to me last night before my husband came up to bed.

  10. 1. I used to nap very regularly, but now I rarely do. I work all day and come home and start dinner(or eat it if someone else was nice enough to fix it)
    2. I never stay in my Jammie's all day unless I am sick. I'm almost always dressed by at least 9:30.
    3. I no longer have a pet, but the bedroom was off limits when I had Sherman. If I had a cat, I would be fine with him or her curled up near my feet.

    1. I suppose sleeping in the library is probably not in a librarian's job description. :)
