It Was a Fun Day

It was a fun and busy day that involved children, miniature horses, lunch, a toenail painting party, and a little green worm. The big guys embarked on a tree cutting adventure while the little ones had a wonderful day at Grandma and Grandpa's house. They stayed all day, aside from our little jaunt to see the miniature horses, and didn't want to go home at the end.

Friday Happenings

Today was a quiet kind of day. After lunch I decided to take a ride out to the nursing home in Sodus to visit some friends.

I signed the visitor's log and headed down the hall to find My Coloring Friend, but when I peeked into her room her bed was neatly made and she was missing. I had arrived on a rare day. She was out of bed, had been to the hairdresser, and was eating her lunch in the library. Another resident was there too and she kept us entertained with her antics. I found myself smiling and enjoying the visit. (I really should take a notebook along so I don't forget the funny things the residents say.) It was Ice Cream Social Day in the activities room and today I was able to sit with a few of the ladies and enjoy a bowl of ice cream rather than have to run off and be a CNA. It was a nice couple of hours.

This evening we had some surprise visitors when my boys returned to finish the trimming job they started on my bushes yesterday. My daughter in law and the kids came along too. Leta doesn't do gardening so she brought along her bag of nail polish and painted my toes for me. (She's my favorite!) I did a bit of trampoline jumping with the kids. It left me feeling dizzy for way too long afterward. I've decided I either need to get up there more often (it's a good workout), or stay down altogether.

It was a good day. Tomorrow we have a graduation party to attend. I've made two pretty jellos to take along. No fruit or vegetables in it, just jello and Dream Whip. It's our favorite kind.

About That Pedi-Party....

I have been fighting a headache for a few days now even though I started taking ibuprofen as soon as I felt it coming on. Perhaps hormone induced headaches haven't heard of ibuprofen and don't realize its headache fighting capabilities... At any rate, I would much prefer to fight a headache this week than next. Next week I want only to admire that new grandson.

Yesterday I freshened up my toenails with a new coat of polish. Earlier this summer I wore pink nails on nine toes and a happy face on my right big toe. The smiley face staring back at me every time I looked down made me smile, and sometimes others commented on it too. Usually they were nice comments, but my husband asked me why I couldn't just be normal... haha! I wore them that way so long that the polish started to grow away from the cuticles.

This time around I decided to let my shoes dress up my feet instead. My nails are a paler shade of pearly pink and I'm sporting my new pair of Teva Mush II flip flops. (Wouldn't you know it? The blue ones are on sale this weekend.) I wore the black and white Tevas I bought last year all summer! It's been my first Flip Flop Summer ever and I love them.

Come join the party over at Betsy's place!

Pedi Party

I did not paint my nails, not my toenails and not my fingernails, however, there was some nail painting happening this week, and so I give you some toenails other than mine. Little girls love painting nails and they tend to be a little more adventurous, as a rule, than me, although I am still thinking about doing Ladybug Toenails again.

Emily was sporting alter- nating blue and purple nails, and since they are headed to Disney soon, she was working on putting Mickey Mouse on her big toe.

Emma, still feeling patriotic after the school's Flag Day cele- brations, went for red, white, and blue with a striped big toenail. Pretty fancy, I'd say! She's all set for the 4th of July! (I'm told the other big toe was blue with a white star, but it was inside a tall sock and tucked deep inside her Ugg boot. She only pulled out one foot to show me.)

And that is my Pedi-Party entry this time. Maybe, if I get them painted up purty, I'll show off my toes next time. For more fun, go here.

Pedicure Party!

Well, here they are. Definitely not a professional job. No cute ladybugs like the last time, although I did like them... Thought I'd try those cute little stickers I bought instead.(Shhh. My baby toes are sleeping....)

Come on and join the fun! Use an old picture if you don't have a new one. I won't tell.
Meet us over at Betsy's place.
And bring some cookies.
