Plantar Fasciitis

I bought new shoes. Same brand I always buy and not cheap. I wore them over the weekend and on Monday. Monday evening I went for a walk with Killian. On Tuesday at work my feet began to ache from the heel up through the arch of my foot. I worked an extra hour and a half on achy feet. By the time I got home I was googling plantar fasciitis, looking for hard rubber balls to roll across the surface of my foot (feet), and doing my best to stretch my calves. Yesterday I worked six hours, went to get an allergy injection, and then visited my eye doctor. (I have a permanent floater thanks to aging...) Last night I iced the worst foot and wore my old shoes to work today. I posted about my "fascist feet" on Facebook and my nurse friend Randy suggested athletic tape. I bought some after work. I also bought some new insoles. The tape feels interesting and seems to be helping.

PS. Kili found a little nest outside.

  1. ...finding comfort shoe is nearly impossible for me. I drove down Plank Road this morning, what a loss.

    1. My feet always balk when I purchase new footwear. New insoles shouldn't be necessary but it's getting to be the norm.
I heard Mr. Walz lost his entire herd of cattle (milk cows) along with all his equipment. The Lincoln Fire Department couldn't get through because of downed power lines...

  2. Ouch!! I keep seeing advertisments for The Good Feet Store" where they fit you with arch supports. Do you think that would help.
Love the picture and deep study of that bird nest. I love "real" bird nests and have a few.

    1. The Good Feet Store sells a set of VERY expensive plastic inserts to their clients/customers (along with telling you that your current shoes are too small). (Please don't ask me how I know...) I might have to look around and see if I can find where I buried them... but I had a nurse friend suggest using athletic tape which has helped immensely. It's a whole lot cheaper than those terribly uncomfortable, plastic inserts.
The nest finding was absolutely adorable. He was so proud of his find.
